Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

October is the World Breast Cancer Awareness month. On October 25, 2017, School of arts and science organized an event to raise awareness about breast cancer and to highlight the importance of repeating tests, at the same time inspiring women who are suffering from breast cancer. I was there as a volunteer helping in forming the posture, preparing brochures that explained more about breast cancer, it's symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. The aim of this event is to increase the knowledge about breast cancer, believing that greater knowledge will lead to earlier detection of the disease and increase survival rates. We performed a pink ribbon, one with flowers where every student putted  a flower and wrote a quote, hope or anything to a patient women, and another ribbon formed by volunteers wearing pink and blue. For each eight who was wearing pink one wore blue, reflecting the latest statistics that one in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. It was a great experience when you feel like supporting the fighters of breast cancer and sending a message to never ever give up! and that hope still exist and treatment do. Moreover, encouraging other women to do an early test periodically since earlier detection will save her life. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, we all heard or know someone who is suffering and we all hope to get rid of this disease and save our moms, sisters... It's an honor to do the least thing possible, to raise you voice and say we are with you, we love you, never lose hope and fight cancer with all your force.

BE AWARE, TAKE CARE, TOGETHER AGAINST CANCER.

''Whatever you do, hold on to hope. The tiniest thread will twist into an unbreakable cord. Let hope anchor you in the possibility that this is not the end of your story, that change will bring you to peaceful shores."

  1. It's vital that women should check their breast regularly for any changes,There is a good chance of recovery if it's detected in it's early stages.Acually it's a very essential topic.

  2. The awareness should be spread worldwide and what the department of arts and sciences have done in October should be repeated over and over. Breast cancer is the most widely spread cancer among women but if detected early, the person can be recovered and continue to live as a normal person.
The picture from the above forming the pink ribbon is very touch. Good job

  3. Great one! I think if awareness spreads among all women, many mothers, daughters, sisters will be saved. They just need to know how to protect themselves, check up frequently, care about their health, follow up with their doctor. Go ahead!
